Isabel Cruz was fifteen years old when she met Tom Stevens. She was 15 when they started dating, and 16 when she lost her virginity to him. By the time she turned 18 and went to college, everything had fallen apart.

This hadn’t been an ordinary love, though. Not a love between two dear friends, or even high school sweethearts. This had been the most taboo sort of love there was: a relationship between a student and her teacher. Isabel started her high school career as a normal student, but set her sights on Tom Stevens as soon as she met him, and pursued him with an intense – and sometimes reckless – fascination. When he finally approached her after swim practice and told her that he shared her feelings, it was the start of a forbidden and dangerous relationship.

Join Isabel as she makes her way through this dark love story, hiding from teachers, lying to her parents, and defying the authorities to make a life with the man she loves. Watch as she discovers the wonders of love and romance, and the terrible betrayal of jealous friends. And cry with her when she learns the hard truth about life and the people in her world.

Sweetest Taboo is inspired by the true and tragic stories of students who fall in love with their teachers, and live with the hard truths of forbidden romances. In a world full of after-school specials on sexual predators, this touching book seeks a different path, casting both student and teacher in a gentle light, and showing that true love may lie at the base of even the most illicit romance.

Oh my freaking gosh guys, have you ever had a book that has literally made your heart stop? You couldn’t put it down because you HAD to know what happened next… and when it was over you mourned inside? Yeah, that was THIS book. Eva is AMAZING, hands down freaking amazing. This book is so controversial and I believe she wrote it with such grace that even though you may not agree you can’t help but like it and be sucked in. If you feel very uncomfortable about teacher and student relationships them I wouldn’t recommend you reading this book, but if you have an open mind and are willing to try anything once than I would DEFINITELY READ IT.

Isabel is a High School freshman who is popular and is apart of the swim team. She could basically talk to any guy her age that she would like but the first day of swim practice she sets her sights on Couch Stevens. Couch Stevens is married with kids and Isabel knows that but she can’t help that they have an instant connection. Soon car rides turn into more and a relationship forms between Isabel and “Tom” (Couch Stevens). They write letters to each other, and sneak around to see each other. Unlike other teacher/student relationships I’ve heard of Tom genuinely likes Isabel and he doesn’t pressure her into sex or any thing else she doesn’t want to do. I really respect him for that. As time goes on more complications and challenges seem to arise and the anticipation of them getting caught DROVE ME CRAZY.

I cannot tell you how it ends because you would hate me for spoiling for you, but it didn’t end how I thought it would. Every page is so delectable and you can’t help but cherish this book. I will read ANYTHING Eva publishes from now on. Thanks Eva for an amazing escape, I can’t wait to re-visit your world of fiction again.
